What is the Elastique Pro Extension?

The Elastique Pro Extension is a paid extension for DJ.Studio that integrates the third-party Elastique Pitch Algorithm from Zplane.

It provides professional-grade pitch shifting and time-stretching for higher-quality playback and exports when changing the pitch or tempo of your tracks.

Designed for professional DJs and producers, Elastique Pro helps preserve vocal quality, drum transients, and overall clarity, even during significant tempo or pitch changes.

Windows availability

November 20, 2025

The Elastique Pro Extension is available again for Windows users after the playback issues were resolved.

The free trial was reset for everyone who previously tried the extension on Windows.

November 7, 2025

The Elastique Pro Extension was temporarily disabled for Windows because some customers experienced playback issues.

How Elastique Pro Handles Pitch Shifting and Tempo Changes

Whenever you increase or decrease the tempo of a track or change its pitch, DJ.Studio uses an audio stretching engine.

Pitch shifting allows you to change the musical key of a track without changing its tempo, making it an important tool for harmonic mixing and smooth musical transitions.

Elastique Pro performs this process in two stages.

First, the audio is resampled, similar to how tape naturally changes both pitch and playback speed.

Next, Elastique Pro's advanced time-stretching engine restores the tempo while preserving the new pitch.

This produces professional-quality results where:

  • vocals retain their natural character;

  • drums remain punchy;

  • full mixes stay clear and transparent, even during larger pitch or tempo adjustments.

By default, DJ.Studio uses the Rubberband repitch algorithm.

Users who have purchased the Elastique Pro Extension—or are currently using the trial—can switch to the Elastique Pro algorithm for pitch shifting and time-stretching.

When is the Elastique Pro Extension used?

The Elastique Pro repitch algorithm is used whenever audio needs to be re-pitched.

Examples include:

  • increasing or decreasing the tempo of a track;

  • changing the pitch of a track;

  • processing transitions that require repitching.

Elastique Pro will be used when both of the following conditions are met:

  1. You have started the Elastique Pro trial or purchased the Elastique Pro Extension.

  2. Settings → General → Repitch Algorithm is set to Elastique Pro.

In addition, the Studio → Track tab must be set to Beat Grid Mode: Re-pitch.

For Beatslice and Vinyl modes, DJ.Studio uses its own algorithms.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Rubberband and Elastique Pro engines?

By default, DJ.Studio uses the Rubberband audio stretcher engine whenever you increase or decrease the tempo of a track while preserving its pitch.

The Elastique Pro Extension replaces the default repitch algorithm with Zplane's Elastique Pro engine, a professional audio processing algorithm used by producers, audio engineers, and DJs.

I enabled Elastique Pro, but I don't hear any difference during playback or export.

The improvements provided by Elastique Pro are generally most noticeable when listening on high-quality speakers or professional studio equipment.

On laptop speakers or basic playback devices, the differences may be difficult to hear.

If you do not notice any difference, verify that:

  • you are using the latest version of DJ.Studio;

  • Elastique Pro is enabled under Settings → General → Repitch Algorithm;

  • the project is using Re-pitch mode where applicable.

When should I use the Elastique Pro Extension?

We recommend using Elastique Pro whenever preserving the highest possible audio quality is important.

It is particularly suitable for:

  • radio productions;

  • live performances;

  • streaming platforms;

  • professional mixes where maximum clarity and detail are desired.

Why is the Elastique Pro Extension a paid extension?

The Elastique Pro Extension uses technology developed by Zplane.

Because DJ.Studio licenses this technology from Zplane, the extension is offered as a separate paid add-on.

Is the purchase valid for life?

The Elastique Pro Extension is a one-time purchase.

Once purchased, you can continue using it within DJ.Studio for as long as your DJ.Studio license remains active.

Can I use the Elastique Pro Extension outside DJ.Studio?

I already own Elastique Pro in another DAW. Can I use it in DJ.Studio?

No.

Having access to Elastique Pro or other Zplane technologies in another DAW does not enable those algorithms inside DJ.Studio.

The DJ.Studio extension is licensed separately.

Can I buy the Zplane Elastique plugin elsewhere and use it in DJ.Studio?
