🎛️ Welcome to DJ.Studio Next
Early access. Fresh features. Not completely polished yet.
We’re launching the prerelease version of DJ.Studio 3.2, and we’re calling it DJ.Studio Next. It’s built for our early adopters—those of you who can’t wait to get your hands on the newest toys, even if they’re still a little rough around the edges.
🛠 Why are we doing this?
1. Real DJs, real feedback.
We test everything behind the scenes, but let’s be real—nothing beats real-world mixing by actual DJs using wild setups and unique workflows. DJ.Studio Next lets us learn how you use new stuff, so we can make it even better before it goes live for everyone.
2. Early access to cutting-edge stuff.
DJ.Studio Next is your backstage pass to the freshest features. It’s like hearing an unreleased track before it drops. Might be glitchy at times, but that’s part of the charm, right?
🌍 Try it before the world does
DJ.Studio Next gives you a first look at all the fresh features coming in DJ.Studio 3.2. It’s like sneaking into the club before the doors open. While we’re still putting on the final polish, your feedback helps us iron out any kinks before the public launch.

🎧 What is DJ.Studio Next?
DJ.Studio Next is our new prerelease version. It lets us roll out big new versions to a smaller group of curious DJs who don’t mind a few quirks. Right now, the stable version is DJ.Studio 3.1. But by installing DJ.Studio Next, you’ll get access to DJ.Studio Next, our prerelease version.
💡 Good to know: You can run DJ.Studio 3.1 and DJ.Studio 3.2 Next side by side—so if something’s acting funky in Next, you can always switch back to stable and finish your mix without breaking a sweat.
You’ll recognize DJ.Studio Next by its yellow app icon. Our current official release sticks with the classic black.
.
So the Next refers to 2 things:
DJ.Studio is the Next version that will be launched publicly
DJ.Studio Next runs next to the official version, which is version 3.1 right now.
🔁 Sharing the same database (or not)
By default, DJ.Studio Next uses the same database as your regular DJ.Studio—so you’ll have access to all your mixes and mashups etc. right away.
Want to play it safer and keep things separate? No problem. Head to:
Settings > Folders > Database Location
There, you can point DJ.Studio Next to a different folder for testing.
🐛 Found a bug in DJ.Studio Next?
That’s part of the deal—and exactly why you’re here.
If something’s not working as expected, let us know by using the speech bubble in the app (bottom right).
👉 Just make sure to mention “3.2” in your message. That way, DJai (our AI support DJ) knows to hand your issue off to a human, pronto.
📦 How updates work
DJ.Studio Next will update more frequently than the stable version. That means faster access to improvements—but also fewer safety checks. Expect the occasional weird behavior, some missing polish, or features that aren’t 100% locked in yet. That’s the tradeoff.
And while we love feedback, support for DJ.Studio Next is a little looser—think of it like beta software. We may not fix every issue right away, but your reports help make the stable release way better.
💬 Want to chat with others on the frontier? We will create a special Discord Channel.
🧼 When Next becomes Now
Once we’re confident that DJ.Studio 3.2 is ready for the world, it’ll officially replace DJ.Studio 3.1. Your black DJ.Studio app will update to 3.2, and the yellow “Next” version will gracefully retire—like a legend who’s done their job.
⚡ Summary
DJ.Studio Next = early access to version 3.2
Run it alongside the stable version
Yellow icon = prerelease
Share the same database, or choose a separate one
Found bugs? Use the speech bubble and mention "3.2"
Updates are frequent, support is limited
When it’s stable, the yellow fades and the black gets the upgrade
