Feb 3: We expect to release theze features in no particular order via DJ.Studio Next in the next 2 weeks.
Already available in DJ.Studio Next:
Folders in the Samples tab
You can now organize your samples into folders inside the Samples tab. If you work with a lot of jingles, drops, sound effects, or loops, this makes it much easier to keep things tidy and find what you need quickly.
Open the DJ.Studio > Studio > Sample > Library tab
Click on the + Add button
Choose New folder
You can move samples to a folder by dragging a sample to the folder or eight mouse click on a sample and choosing "Move"
Folders and search in your mixes & mashups
As your library of mixes and mashups grows, finding a specific one gets harder. You can now organize them into folders and use search to jump straight to what you're looking for.
Open Your Mixes or Your Mashups
Click New folder to start organizing.
Right mouse click on a Mix or mashup project and choose Move to.
Use the looking glass icon to search for a specific mix or mashup.
Will become available in DJ.Studio Next in the next few days:
Cue-point detection
DJ.Studio now automatically detects and places cue points in your tracks. Think intro, outro, drops, breakdowns. These markers make it easier to set up clean transitions without having to manually scrub through every track first.
Next to the Rekordbox cue points and the Mixed in Key cue points, DJ.Studio will now also show its own cue points which you can enable/disable at Settings > Library > DJ.Studio.
Until now, when you add tracks or harmonize your mix, we use your Mix in and Mix out point settings at Settings > Transitions. With this change it also becomes possible to default to "the first or second cue point" for the mix in points.
Faster stems during mix creation
Stem separation (splitting a track into vocals, drums, bass, melody) takes processing power. On slower machines this took too much time to first process the visual waveforms and process the audio files for the stems afterwards.
With DJ.Studio 4.1 we have reengineerd this process, which gives everyone fast stems which you can immediately listen to. It's of a bit lower quality but you can immediately listen to the stems and use them to work on your mix or mashup.
When you export your mix, or when you click the button Preload stems, DJ.Studio will generate the high quality stems.
This update speeds up the stem separation process significantly, so you spend less time waiting and more time working on your mix.
Stop copying audio files to the DJ.Studio database folder
Previously, DJ.Studio would copy your audio files into its own database folder when you added tracks to a mix or mashup project. That meant every track existed twice on your drive.
With this new version, DJ.Studio will add references to your original files, instead of copying the tracks which can save a lot of disk space, especially if you have a large library.
If you have been using DJ.Studio for a longer time, your database can be already pretty large.
When this feature is released in DJ.Studio Next, when you add new tracks, DJ.Studio will use the file on your harddrive using the file reference.
For safety reasons we will still copy the tracks to your database as a fallback mechanism. We do that because you might be opening your mixes with both DJ.Studio 4.0 ánd Next and 4.0 still needs to keep on working.
When DJ.Studio 4.1 is officially released, we will stop copying the audio files and even offer a cleanup mechanism to cleanup your existing DJ.Studio database.
This change doesn't mean a lot of visual changes in the app. When you have changed the location of a file on your machine, and you open a mix project in DJ.Studio, you could see a message like this, where you are asked to relocate the file.
Voice-over recording in the Studio
Record voice-overs directly inside DJ.Studio. This is useful for radio shows, podcast-style mixes, or adding spoken intros and outros to your sets. No need to switch to a separate recording app and import the audio afterwards.
Enable the Voice over lane at Settings > Interface
Select the right Input audio advice at Settings > General> Audio > Input device
Open a mix or mashup project
Click the Voice over lane open
Click the Arm button to enable the Input Audio
Click the record button next to the Play button in the middle of the screen
You will have 4 beats before the sound will be recorded
Click the Record button or the Pause button to stop recording
A Voice-over sample will be show in the voice over lane.
The Volume in the master deck will be ducked.
DJ.Studio Sample Pack 2026
A fresh collection of samples included with DJ.Studio. These are ready to use in your mixes and productions right away.
On the Samples tab you will be able to add new free DJ.Studio samples to your project. You can recognize these samples with the blue 4 edged icon.
These samples can be samples that are constructed of several parts. You can choose to either
- add the constructed sample
- or zoom in to the sample and choose one of the sub elements to add them to your audio clips.
Improved key detection
DJ.Studio analyzes your tracks to detect their musical key, which is essential for harmonic mixing. This update makes that detection more accurate, so you get fewer mismatches when building your mix. If you've ever had a transition that sounded off even though the keys should have worked, this should help.
