Already available in DJ.Studio Next:

Folders in the Samples tab

You can now organize your samples into folders inside the Samples tab. If you work with a lot of jingles, drops, sound effects, or loops, this makes it much easier to keep things tidy and find what you need quickly.

  1. Open the DJ.Studio > Studio > Sample > Library tab

  2. Click on the + Add button

  3. Choose New folder

  4. You can move samples to a folder by dragging a sample to the folder or right mouse click on a sample and choosing "Move"

Folders and search in your mixes & mashups

As your library of mixes and mashups grows, finding a specific one gets harder. You can now organize them into folders and use search to jump straight to what you're looking for.

  1. Open Your Mixes or Your Mashups

  2. Click New folder to start organizing.

  3. Drag a project onto a folder or right mouse click on a Mix or mashup project and choose Move to.

Use the looking glass icon to search for a specific mix or mashup.

Voice-over recording in the Studio

Record voice-overs directly inside DJ.Studio. This is useful for radio shows, podcast-style mixes, or adding spoken intros and outros to your sets. No need to switch to a separate recording app and import the audio afterwards.

1. Enable the Voice-Over lane

2. Go to Settings → Interface and enable the Voice-Over lane.

3. Select your input device

4. Go to Settings → General → Audio → Input Device and choose the correct microphone/interface.

5. Open your mix or mashup project

6. Open the Voice-Over lane

7. Start recording: Click the Record button on the voice-over lane.

8. Stop recording: Click Record again, press Pause or press the space bar on your keyboard.

9. Your recording will appear as a clip in the Voice-Over lane.

You can configure if during playback and export, you want the master deck volume automatically ducked so your voice stays clear.

When you hoover on the Voice recording, there are buttons to:

  • remove background noise

  • add reverb

  • and of course you can add all the regular automations, EQ etc to this voice sample.

DJ.Studio Sample Pack 2026

A new collection of samples included with DJ.Studio. Ready to use in your mixes and productions.

In the Samples tab, clic k the Free samples button to check them out.

Some samples are layered samples. You can recognize them by the blue four edged icon. This means they are built from multiple stacked sounds that play together as one unit.

Example:

• A drum impact made of a kick, a clap, white noise, and a sub drop
• A riser built from noise, synth, and percussion
• A transition effect with sweep, hit, and tail combined

Instead of one flat audio file, it is a small stack of elements grouped together.

Why this matters:

• You can use the full impact instantly
• Or take only the clap, only the noise, or only the sub
• More control, less digging through folders

In short, it is a pre built mini sound design stack that you can use whole or in parts.

You can:

• Add the full layered sample as one combined sound
• Open it and select individual layers to add separately to your audio clips

Faster stems during mix creation

In DJ.Studio 4.0 we use two steps for stem separation:

  1. We generate fast visual stem waveforms.

  2. When you play audio with a stem muted or extracted, we process the real stem separation in high quality.

On slower machines, especially older Intel Macs, that second step can take time.

In DJ.Studio 4.1 you can select a faster Stem separation mode in Edit mode in the Studio.
This faster stem separation has lower quality (Mono, 22.050 Hz) but it is up to 5 times faster on Intel machines. This makes editing much smoother on older hardware.

Important: When you export your mix, we always use full high quality stem separation. Your final audio does not lose quality.

How to switch quality in the Studio:

• Go to Settings > Extensions > Stem Separation

• Or use the switch in the top right corner of the app

If you first worked in lower quality and want to switch to high quality later:

  1. Turn the switch in the top right corner yellow.

  2. Click Preload Stems to generate high quality stems for all separated parts in your project.

  3. Wait until processing is done. Yes, this is the coffee moment.

This way you edit fast and still export in full quality.

If you open DJ.Studio on a slower machine, Dj.Studio will automatically suggest you to switch to the faster lower quality .

Stop copying audio files to the DJ.Studio database folder

Previously, DJ.Studio would copy your audio files into its own database folder when you added tracks to a mix or mashup project. That meant every track existed twice on your drive.
With this new version, DJ.Studio will add references to your original files, instead of copying the tracks which can save a lot of disk space, especially if you have a large library.

If you have been using DJ.Studio for a longer time, your database can be already pretty large.

When this feature is released via DJ.Studio Next, added tracks will be linked directly to the files on your hard drive via file referencing. As a safety measure, we will still copy these tracks to your database. This ensures full compatibility with DJ.Studio 4.0, allowing you to switch between DJ.Studio 4.0 and DJ.Studio Next (4.1) without issues.

When DJ.Studio 4.1 is officially released, we will stop copying the audio files and even offer a cleanup mechanism to cleanup your existing DJ.Studio database.

This change doesn't mean a lot of visual changes in the app. When you have changed the location of a file on your machine, and you open a mix project in DJ.Studio, you could see a message like this, where you are asked to relocate the file.

Will become available in DJ.Studio Next in the next few days:

Cue-point detection

DJ.Studio now automatically detects and places cue points in your tracks. Think intro, outro, drops, breakdowns. These markers make it easier to set up clean transitions without having to manually scrub through every track first.
Next to the Rekordbox cue points and the Mixed in Key cue points, DJ.Studio will now also show its own cue points which you can enable/disable at Settings > Library > DJ.Studio.
Until now, when you add tracks or harmonize your mix, we use your Mix in and Mix out point settings at Settings > Transitions. With this change it also becomes possible to default to "the first or second cue point" for the mix in points.

Improved key detection

DJ.Studio analyzes your tracks to detect their musical key, which is essential for harmonic mixing. This update makes that detection more accurate, so you get fewer mismatches when building your mix. If you've ever had a transition that sounded off even though the keys should have worked, this should help.
