If you're working with stems in a transition and need to adjust their length without affecting corresponding stems in other tracks, here's a straightforward guide to help you:

Shortening or Lengthening stems in a transition of the Outgoing Track:
Location: On the right side of the transition window.
Action: Click and drag the end of the stem. This will let you adjust the start of the transition.
Creating Crossfades or Adjusting Volume:
Location: Look for the automation point on the transition window.
Action: Click and drag this point to create a crossfade effect or to lower the volume of the stem.
Quick Tips:
Click and Drag: Use the click-and-drag method on either side of the transition window to manually adjust stem lengths.
Automation Points: Use automation points to fine-tune the transition effects like crossfades or volume adjustments.
By using these methods, you can control each stem individually without affecting the other tracks, ensuring a smooth editing process.
Frequently asked questions
Can I automate/add multiple volume automation points on a separate stem in a stems transition?
It is not possible to add multiple volume automation points on a separate stem in the stem transition itself, but there is another way how to do that.
β
In the transitions and stem blocks, you can only use one automation point for the volume. It would become too crowded with automation points in that small area on the screen.
Take these steps if you need more options a stem, like multiple EQs, more automation, effects, or VSTs:
Open the Studio View and go to the Transition Tab.
Select the Stems transition category.
Wait for DJ.Studio to analyze and split the stems.
You'll see 4 colored sub-lanes for each track.
Grab the stem that you want to automate with option+mouse down and drag it to the sample lane.
In the sample lane, you have all options on the effect tab for that stem.
Don't forget to switch off the stem you just dragged down in the stems transition window.
