How do I enable stem separation with Nvidia 5000-series GPUs in DJ.Studio?
Starting with DJ.Studio 4.0, support for Nvidia 5000-series GPUs, including models like the RTX 5080 and RTX 5090, has been introduced. This guide walks through the key details, compatibility, and steps required to enable this feature.
Overview of Nvidia 5000-Series GPU Support
Previously, DJ.Studio versions (up to 3.1) did not support NVIDIA 5000-series GPUs as there were no models available for GPU-assisted stem separation. However, DJ.Studio 4.0 (released as DJ.Studio Next) has addressed this limitation by adding compatibility for these GPUs.
Version Compatibility: 3.1 Versus 4.0
If you are using DJ.Studio version 3.1 and own an Nvidia 5000-series GPU, you may experience limitations as this version relies on CPU for stem separation. To enable support for your GPU, you’ll need to upgrade to DJ.Studio 4.0 or later. Follow these steps:
Steps to Upgrade:
Download DJ.Studio 4.0 (available as DJ.Studio Next).
Install DJ.Studio Next alongside your current DJ.Studio installation.
Note that DJ.Studio and DJ.Studio Next cannot be run simultaneously.
Reconfigure settings and preferences in DJ.Studio Next as required. By default, both applications will use the same database, but this can be changed in Settings > Folders.
Using CPU Processing as a Fallback
If for any reason your GPU is unsupported or stem separation does not perform as expected:
Switch to CPU processing by navigating to Settings > Extensions > Stem separation.
If issues persist, generate a diagnostic log and share it for further analysis. This can help in identifying and solving specific configuration problems.
