Beatport Preview Integration in DJ.Studio

With the Beatport Preview integration, you can try tracks in your mix using free 2-minute previews before purchasing them.

Written by Liz Bollema

Beatport and Beatsource previews allow you to experiment with track snippets before purchasing. You can buy the tracks you used when ready to export.

For mixing with full tracks, consider signing up for Beatsource or Beatport Streaming for access to a vast music catalog.

How it works

  1. Open the Beatport tab in DJ.Studio and browse tracks.

  2. Add any track to your mix, the 2-minute preview provided by Beatport will be added to your mix.

  3. Edit and experiment as usual:

    • Use stems

    • Add transitions and automations

    • Rearrange and loop

  4. When you decide to use the track in your final mix:

    • Click the Preview button in the track header, or

    • Go to Export > Legalize Mix.

  5. DJ.Studio automatically fills your Beatport shopping cart with the selected tracks.

  6. Buy and download the tracks, then add them during the legalize flow.

Things to know

  • No subscription needed, you can try previews for free.

  • Previews are 2 minutes long, Beatport decides which part of the track is available.

  • Track prices are loaded from the Beatport Store (usually $1.29–$2.50 per track).

  • Once purchased and legalized, the preview is automatically replaced with the full track in your mix.

    Beatsource Migration to Beatport

Beatsource and Beatport are being merged into a single service.

If you previously used Beatsource, preview and streaming functionality is now handled via Beatport. To use preview features in DJ.Studio, make sure to:

    • Log in to your Beatport account via
Settings → Online Services → Beatport

    • Be logged in to the Beatport Shop (https://www.beatport.com) in your browser, as this is required for preview playback

If you open older projects that contain Beatsource tracks, DJ.Studio will guide you through converting them to Beatport tracks.
