DJ.Studio integrates with Beatport in two different ways:

  • Beatport/Beatsource Streaming (full track testing with subscription)

  • Beatport/Beatsource (preview testing without subscription)

Both integrations follow the same legal principle: You cannot publish DJ mixes with streaming files.
The music industry requires that DJs own (purchase) the music they use in published mixes. That’s why DJ.Studio includes the Legalize Mix feature – to replace streaming or preview tracks with purchased versions from Beatport before export.

Try before you buy

Most DJs don’t want to buy tracks before they know if they’ll actually work in a mix. DJ.Studio solves this problem by letting you try before you buy with the Beatport/Beatsource integrations. You can test tracks inside your mix, and only purchase the ones that truly fit.

Option 1: Beatport/Beatsource Streaming Integration

What You Need

  • A Beatport Streaming Advanced or Professional subscription/ a Beatsource subscription

  • DJ.Studio ;)

How It Works

  1. Connect your Beatport/Beatsource account via Settings > Online Services.

Tip: With the yellow button, you can unlock a 60-day extended trial.

  2. Browse and add full-length streaming tracks from Beatport to your mix.

  3. Use all DJ.Studio features – stem separation, automation, transitions.

  4. When your mix is ready:

    • Export with Legalize Mix

    • We generate a Beatport cart with the exact tracks you used

    • Buy, download, and re-import the tracks

    • DJ.Studio replaces the streaming versions automatically, keeping all your edits

  5. Export your mix legally to MP3 and upload it anywhere (e.g. Mixcloud).

Pros

✅ Test with full-length tracks
✅ Perfect your mix before buying
✅ Seamless transition from streaming → purchased

Cons

❌ Requires a monthly subscription
❌ You still pay for the tracks you want to keep

Option 2: Beatport/Beatsource Shop Integration

What You Need

  • Nothing extra!

  • Available in DJ.Studio 4.0 (Next)

How It Works

  1. Browse millions of Beatport/Beatsource tracks directly in DJ.Studio.

  2. Add 2-minute preview clips (chosen by the record label).

  3. Test them in your mix with all DJ.Studio features.

  4. When you’re ready:

    • Buy tracks directly from Beatport (single track purchase)

    • Or bulk purchase via Legalize Mix at export

    • Download and re-import them

    • DJ.Studio replaces the preview clips with full tracks

  5. Review transitions (since previews may cut differently) and finalize your mix.

Pros

No subscription required
✅ Instant access to millions of tracks
✅ Pay only for what you actually use

Cons

❌ Limited to 2-minute previews
❌ Previews may skip the part of the track you need

Tips

  • Both integrations support stem separation, automation, and harmonic automix.

  • You can combine Beatport/Beatsource tracks with your local library in the same project.

  • Already own a track? DJ.Studio recognizes it – no duplicate purchases.

  • Legalize Mix ensures your final mix only includes tracks you’ve purchased.

Conclusion

  • Use Beatport/Beatsource Streaming if you want full creative freedom during testing and don’t mind a subscription.

  • Use Beatport/Beatsource Shop if you prefer to avoid monthly costs and are comfortable working with previews.

Either way, DJ.Studio makes it easy to build your mix, only buy the tracks you really want, and publish your mixes legally.
