How to Export DJ Sets from DJ.Studio to Traktor
These steps show you how to create a DJ set from a DJ.Studio - which you can then import into Traktor.
Finish your DJ.Studio mix.
Click Export.
Choose DJ Set.
You can tick Include Audio if you don’t have the files in Traktor already.
Choose the destination to export the .m3u8 file.
NOTE! Traktor cannot import .m3u8 files, but it does work with .m3u so you will need to delete the '8' from the file name in your file explorer/finder. This conversion works fine and has no effects on the material.
Now, open Traktor, and drop the .m3u into the browser.
Navigate to the .m3u file in the Traktor track browser.
Open it, and you will see all your tracks in order, as a playlist which you can instantly start DJing with.
Note: After the import you might need to use „check consistency“ to make your tracks show in the playlist view with all stored datafields in them.
Frequently Asked Questions about Traktor
Can I export beat grids or cue points to Traktor?
At the moment, DJ.Studio does not have an export option to export beat grids or hot cues to Traktor. We have to build that for every software tool separately because there is no universal way how to store beat grids in audio files. DJ.Studio already supports exporting Beat grids to Ableton and rekordbox. We are in the process of also buidling the export of beat grids to Traktor.
What should I do if DJ.Studio can't find the Traktor Pro library folder?
If you see the message "DJ.Studio could not find your Traktor Pro library" please follow the instructions on this guide - Locating Integration Folders
It seems that my Traktor library is not showing properly—it has found an old library. Can I manually point it to the latest version?
If your Traktor library is showing an old library you could try this:
Rename the folders of the older Traktor libraries.
Or rename the collection.nml in those folders so that DJ.Studio can't find them anymore.
